KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 2): Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) has named Hanizan Hood as its new chief investment officer (CIO) following the retirement of deputy president and group chief operating officer Datuk Idris Kechot on Dec 31, 2018.

In her new role, Hanizan oversees the day-to-day operations of all operating units within the asset management division, namely fund management, strategic asset allocation, equity market operations, fixed income, investment analysis and economics departments.

"Hanizan started out as a graduate trainee with PNB in 1996. Over her 22-year career, she has served in various capacities in the areas of equity research, money market, fixed income and portfolio management," it added.

Meanwhile, Idris has been with the PNB Group, including Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd, for more than 34 years.

PNB group chairman Tan Sri Dr Zeti Aziz said Idris has been a long standing and valuable member of the group's senior management team.
