KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 16): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Malaysia's National Transformation Programme (NTP) had shown results as the Government implemented its development projects.

Najib wrote in najibrazak.com today that since the NTP was launched in 2010, the Government had implemented projects including the light rail transit, mass rapid transit and Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail. The list includes affordable houses under Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia.

"This year's Malaysia Day celebration will be more meaningful because the NTP has yielded results.

"In just seven years, various development projects have been implemented to become the foundation to the country's economy's strong structure. Despite criticisms, we will remain committed to strengthen the country's economy for the people's well-being," Najib said.

The Performance Management & Delivery Unit (Pemandu), a unit under the Prime Minister’s Department, is spearheading the NTP.

According to Pemandu's website, the Government launched the NTP in 2010 to implement the the New Economic Model, which was also unveiled during the year.
