KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 14): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he wants every ministry to "be prepared" to ensure Malaysia's Budget 2018 achieves its goals. 

Najib said via Twitter today that he also wants every ministry to ensure that benefits under the budget do trickle down to the people.

“Alhamdulillah, the Supply Bill 2018 or Budget 2018 was approved at the Dewan Rakyat for the first reading,” Najib said.

Bernama reported that the bill, which seeks to allocate RM280.25 billion for operating and development expenditure, was approved after 107 MPs voted in favour of the bill. It was reported that 59 MPs voted against the bill, while 11 abstained from voting.

Najib tabled Budget 2018 in Parliament on Oct 27 this year.
