GEORGE TOWN: Public universities in Malaysia are “under-accepting” students for the upcoming 2014/2015 term, at only 63.5% this time, said PKR Higher Education Complaint and Advisory Panel chairman Sim Tze Tzin. He said 67,388 students were qualified to enter public universities nationwide but the Education Department accepted only 42,795 students. “Last year, the intake was at 71.9% for the 2013/2014 term. This means public higher learning institutions have reduced their student intake by 8.4% this year.”  — The Malaysian Insider
