Perodua steps up after-sales workforce

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 1): Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) aims to further improve its standards, skills and knowledge of after-sales staff through its National Technical Skill Contest in preparation for a record 2.14 million services intakes this year.

First held in 1997, the contest puts Perodua’s service advisors, foremen, mechanics, and for the first time this year, Body and Paint service advisors, through a series of tough customer-related scenarios.

Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Managing Director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin, in a statement said participants were judged on how correctly, thoroughly, quickly and efficiently they solved the issues given.

He said they were gauged not just from a technical perspective, but also had to demonstrate a strong focus on the all-important customer satisfaction.

For this year’s contest, more than 2,000 after-sales staff across the country, from dealers as well as branches, took part in the preliminary round in February, with the national finals held on July 19. — Bernama
