KUALA LUMPUR (Apr 1): Perduren (M) Bhd has proposed to change its name to Enra Group Bhd and has appointed Norsharizal Mashahrin as its chief financial officer.

In a filing today, it said the proposed name has been approved and reserved by companies commission of Malaysia (CCM) on Jan 14, 2015, but is subject to the approval of shareholders at its forthcoming extraordinary general meeting.

Perduren (fundamental: 0.1; valuation: 1.8) has earlier announced in January that it will divest its existing property assets to focus on a possible niche area of property development and property investment related to the oil and gas (O&G) industry.

The decision was made by new controlling shareholders Datuk Kamaluddin Abdullah — son of former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi — and Datuk Mazlin Junid, the former president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Daya Materials Bhd. Both have extensive experience in the O&G sector.

Meanwhile, in a separate filing today, Perduren said it has appointed Norsharizal, 36, as its CFO, effective Apr 1, 2015.

He was previously the CEO of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia between Jan and Mar 2014 and the CFO of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia between Oct 2012 and Jan 2014.
