KUALA LUMPUR (March 19): The Parliament has brought forward Dewan Negara's meeting, which was originally scheduled to start on April 16 this year, to March 26.

According to a notice by Dewan Negara secretary Riduan Rahmat to members of the parliament today, the meeting will last until April 5 — the same day Dewan Rakyat ends.

The current round of Dewan Rakyat sitting, which will be the final one before the 14th General Election, commenced since March 5, and so far lawmakers are still debating on the Royal Address by Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V.

The government conducted the First Reading for Supplementary Supply (2017) Bill 2018 to seek approval for the additional spending it made in 2017.

It is also widely expected that Putrajaya intend to get Dewan Rakyat's approval for the Election Commission's electoral boundaries redelineation in this meeting.
