KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will hold a meeting today to discuss the date for the proceedings on the reinvestigation revolving around 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) to start.

PAC deputy chairman Wong Kah Woh said the committee will start its reinvestigation on the Auditor-General’s Report on 1MDB today and set the date to start its proceedings with the first witness, former auditor-general Tan Sri Ambrin Buang.

“The meeting tomorrow (today) will bring attention to the PAC’s proceedings regarding 1MDB where we will begin with our investigation on the Auditor-General’s Report which was classified under OSA (Official Secrets Act) before this.

“We will also discuss and set a date to start the proceedings,” he told reporters at the Parliament yesterday.

Besides that, Wong pointed out that the meeting today will also start the investigation on other cases — unrelated to 1MDB — that were brought up in the Auditor-General’s Report last August.

The PAC’s proceedings on 1MDB, which were scheduled to have started on Oct 29, have been previously postponed without disclosing any particular reason.

PAC chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee later revealed in a press statement, on Oct 30, the delay was due to the advice from Attorney-General Tommy Thomas.
