KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): OCB Bhd has appointed LKL International Bhd to promote and market its Breathair brand of medical grade cushions in the global market.

In a filing today, OCB said its wholly-owned unit, Agrow Corp Sdn Bhd, has entered into a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LKL.

Agrow is a specialist in building materials and supplies a range of international and local branded sanitary wares, bathroom wares, fittings and accessories, iron monger, doors and other products to stakeholders in the building and construction industry.

“Both LKL and Agrow envisage a mutually beneficial arrangement to cooperate in the market development of Breathair merchandise, an advanced washable cushion material with high level of air and water permeability, durability and anti-bacterial properties, which is widely used in hospitals and healthcare facilities,” said OCB.

Under the MoU, LKL will be responsible for applying for the certificates necessary for the sale of Breathair merchandise in the global market.

OCB said the execution of the MoU will not have any material impact on its net assets and gearing but added that it is expected to contribute positively to its earnings should the collaboration materialise.

LKL’s share price closed down 0.5 sen or 4% at 12 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM51.46 million.
