(Sept 20): Nooryana Najwa Najib, the daughter of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has criticised the police for showing no mercy for an elderly woman by raiding the Najib residence earlier today.

In a post on social media, she said: "Should an 87-year-old woman be made to undergo such a bad experience? At this age, she often spends her time praying, especially at a time where her son is being subjected to various tests.

"We are trying very hard to see our grandmother in a healthy condition because we love her very much.

"I understand the police are doing their job as instructed by the powers-that-be but is there not a single drop of mercy for such an elderly woman, the wife of a former prime minister, and a woman who has contributed so much to the country?"

Nooryana added: "We wonder why there are no photos from the raid. It's because nothing was found and (the police) returned empty-handed.

She then said that “Malaysia Baru” should not be about politics of vengeance but about political harmony which could unite everyone towards a better future.

Earlier it was reported that a police team raided the house of Najib's mother, Rahah Mohammad Noah, while he was being charged in court but the cops left empty-handed.
