KUALA LUMPUR (June 9): Minister of Finance Datuk Seri Najib Razak told Parliament that he did not get paid any fees, gratuity or yearly remuneration for his position as the chairman of the advisory board of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

"The chairman of the 1MDB advisory board is not paid any annual remuneration or takes any fee, gratuity or interest,” Najib told Parliament in his written reply to Kampar MP Dr Ko Chung Sen.

Najib, who is also the Prime Minister, in his written Parliamentary reply said that throughout the span of five years from 2009 till 2014, 1MDB’s board of directors have held a total of 72 meetings.

The advisory board of 1MDB, however, has so far met twice, he added.

Najib was responding to a question by Ko who asked about the number of board meetings held by 1MDB each year for the past five years.

He also asked about the number of meetings attended by the chairman of the board of advisors, Najib, each year and the yearly remuneration for the chairman of the board of advisors.
