KUALA LUMPUR (March 16): China-based shoe manufacturer Multi Sports Holdings Ltd said Naren Anand Gill has resigned as its non-independent director.

In a bourse filing today, the company said his resignation was due to personal reason.

According to Multi Sports’ Annual Report 2017, Naren joined its board in October 2016.

He was an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya practising as a partner at Messr Gill and Tang, Kuala Lumpur.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Politics from Leeds University, United Kingdom, and is related to the major shareholder of the company, Paramjit Singh Gill.

In a separate statement, the board of directors of Multi Sports announced that Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd resolved to dismiss the company's appeal for an extension of time until July 31 to submit a regularisation plan to the relevant authorities for approval, as well as dismiss its appeal for Bursa Securities not to de-list the securities of Multi Sports.

Trading of Multi Sports shares has been suspended since May 10, 2016 after the company failed to submit its annual report for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2015 to Bursa Malaysia.
