KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 5): MY EG Services Bhd (MyEG) announced today that it has commenced a data-sharing collaboration with the Department of Labour Peninsular Malaysia for the purposes of monitoring and enforcement related to the Covid-19 screening of foreign workers.

In a statement, MyEG said the collaboration is aimed to leverage on MyEG's recently launched one-stop Covid-19 portal, which is an alternative channel for employers to register and arrange for the testing of their workers.

"Under the new collaboration, MyEG will share with the Department of Labour relevant real-time data from the one-stop portal, including workers' screening status, test results and mobile QR code-based digital certificates issued as proof of testing.

"The data provided by MyEG will be used to assist the Department of Labour in its monitoring and enforcement of employers' compliance with the government directive for the screening of foreign workers," said MyEG.

It said all employers of foreign workers are therefore reminded to register the status of the screening of their workforce through the one-stop portal to ensure the data shared with the Department of Labour are up to date.

"For employers who have yet to complete the required screening of their foreign workers, MyEG's one-stop portal provides an option for them to arrange for on-site testing," it said.

MyEG added that screening of non-SOCSO contributors also can be arranged through the one-stop portal at a cost of RM150 per test.

Shares in MyEG closed up six sen or 4.26% at RM1.47, valuing the group at RM5.28 billion. It saw 58.27 million shares transacted.
