KUALA LUMPUR: My EG Services Bhd (MyEG) has been granted a two-year licence to carry out recruitment activities for job seekers within and outside Malaysia and non-citizen employees within Malaysia.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, MyEG said its sub-subsidiary Agensi Pekerjaan MY EG Jobs Sdn Bhd has received the licence to conduct matters relating to private employment agencies from the Department of Labour Peninsular Malaysia of the human resources ministry.

MyEG added that the licence, which is valid from Sept 1, 2018 to Aug 31, 2020, is in line with the recent launch of the job matching and placement service to match Malaysian employers with foreign workers.

“The board of directors is of the opinion that this licence, which allows the company to provide the service, is in the best interest of the group and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the licence and the service will contribute positively to the group,” said MyEG.

MyEG’s share price fell 13 sen or 7.97% to close at RM1.50 yesterday, with a market capitalisation of RM5.33 billion.
