KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 22): After hitting limit-down last Friday, shares in both My E.G. Services Bhd (MyEG) and Datasonic Bhd rebounded in active trade at mid-morning today.

MyEG shares, which have been trending upward since the opening bell, climbed 26 sen or 23.01% to RM1.39.

Seven MyEG structure warrants dominated the top percentage gainer list this morning, with prices soaring over 60% at least.

The two that are leading the pack continued climbing since trading began, with MyEG's C45 warrants up by 6 sen or 70.59% to 14.5 sen and its C52 warrants up 2.5 sen or 83.33% at 5.5 sen.

Meanwhile, Datasonic shares made a U-turn after declining in early trade. As at 10.06am, the group's shares had gained 1.5 sen or 3.09% to trade at 50 sen.

Both companies were mentioned in the charges against former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Friday, although both have since denied any involvement.

MyEG had said it received a confirmation letter from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission that neither the company nor its board of directors were under investigation in relation to the charges.

Mastoro Kenny IT Consultant & Services had allegedly given Zahid 24 cheques worth over RM13 million between July 15, 2016 and Feb 8, 2017 to secure contracts from MyEG.

Separately, Datasonic's deputy managing director (MD) Chew Ben Ben was said to have given RM6 million to Zahid via cheques issued by Sarana Kencana Bhd, in which Datasonic MD Datuk Abu Hanifah Nordin is a shareholder and director.
