(Nov 9): Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said his son was unafraid about having to give his statement to police over his alleged involvement in a Bersih rally.

"He is not afraid, look at his father," Azmin said after a press conference at Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) this morning.

Azmin said his son went to school as usual at 7.30am and would sit for his examinations at 8.30am.

"He is fine, he is actually ready to give his statement to police but I told him to concentrate on his examinations," he said.

Azmin said that he has already informed his lawyers about his son's examinations and the teenager would only be able to give his statement after his examinations on November 25.

Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, yesterday said his 15-year-old son had been summoned by police to give his statement over his alleged involvement in a Bersih rally.

Azmin announced this on Twitter last night, stating that police had requested his son to turn up at the Dang Wangi police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today despite it being the start of final exams for the teenager.

"Police have issued a notice under Section 111 directing my child aged 15 to have his statement taken of the Bersih peaceful gathering! A child as young as 15 who is oppressed will definitely rise and fight against the cruelty and evil of Umno," he tweeted via his official handle @AzminAli. – The Malaysian Insider
