KUALA LUMPUR: Muhibbah Engineering (M) Bhd’s 49%-owned entity Muhibbah Engineering Middle East LLC has bagged a 143 million riyal (RM149 million) contract to build a syncrolift and travel lift with ancillaries and all associated works in Marsa Um Alhoul in the Um Alhoul Special Economic Zone, Qatar.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Muhibbah said Muhibbah Engineering Middle East had accepted the award from the Economic Zones Company of Qatar (Manateq), a company owned by the government of Qatar, for the proposed project.

Construction of the project will commence immediately and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2019.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of [the] Muhibbah group for the current and future financial years,” it added.
