KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 30): Mudajaya Group Bhd said today that its indirectly wholly-owned unit has issued Green Sustainable and Responsible investment (Green SRI) Sukuk Wakalah worth RM245 million.

Sinar Kamiri Sdn Bhd (SKSB), which Mudajaya owns via Mudajaya RE Sdn Bhd, issued the sukuk today, which has a tenure of up to 18 years from the issue date.

Proceeds from the issuance, said Mudajaya, will be used by SKSB to part-finance its proposed 49MW solar photovoltaic plant in Kuala Kangsar, Perak.

The sukuk, said Mudajaya, has coupon rates between 4.96% and 6.35%, which are payable semi-annually.

"The Green SRI Sukuk Wakalah has been assigned a final rating of AA-IS with a stable outlook by Malaysian Rating Corp Bhd," Mudajaya added.

Mudajaya announced its plan to raise the sum via sukuk in November last year.

Its shares slid 3.5 sen or 3.65% to close at 92.5 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM545.64 million. The stock has climbed some 10.12% in the past 12 months.
