KUALA LUMPUR (April 2): MTD ACPI Engineering Bhd has announced the retirement of its chairman and independent non-executive director Datuk Rashid Omar.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, MTD ACPI said Rashid, 68, has also ceased to be a member of the remuneration committee of the company.

This leaves the committee with three remaining members namely Nik Din Nik Sulaiman, Datuk Kalid Alias and Nik Fadzrina Nik Hussain.

According to MTD ACPI's Annual Report 2017, Rashid was appointed to his current post on Aug 15, 2006. He  started his career as a civil engineer of the East-West Highway Project in Grik, Perak (1975-1977). He then served with the Public Works Department (PWD) in several positions including as a district engineer of Kerian, Perak (1977-1978) and director of management corporate branch (2000-2005).

At 4.54pm, MTD ACPI rose 1.5 sen or 6.52% to 24.5 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM56.75 million.
