KUALA LUMPUR: Green Ocean Corp Bhd’s Datuk Tan See Meng, 60, has resigned as the group’s managing director (MD), citing personal commitments, with executive director Mohd Yusri Md Yusof replacing him.

Tan had helmed the group as MD since Dec 27, 2013.

According to Green Ocean’s filing with Bursa Malaysia, he is also the founder and MD of Sawit Raya Sdn Bhd, which was established in 1983 and is involved in palm oil trading and refinery activities.

Separately, Green Ocean said Yusri holds a Masters of Science in Business Leadership from Newcastle Business School, University of Northumbria, and a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University.

A member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia, he started his career in 1993 in the banking and financial services industry, with stints in The Pacific Bank Bhd and EON Bank Group Bhd. “Throughout his career, he has gained in-depth exposure in operations, corporate governance, risk management, internal control, quality and innovation practices, strategic planning and performance management,” Green Ocean said.

Meanwhile, the group’s independent and non-executive director Ooi Say Teik, 57, has also quit his post, again citing personal commitments.
