KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 7): Metronic Global Bhd (MGB) has bagged a RM6.04 million contract to supply, deliver, install, test and commission audio visual system for Lot 91 Convention Centre Podium at Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, MGB said its wholly-owned subsidiary Metronic Engineering Sdn Bhd (MESB) has received a letter of award from Impian Bebas Sdn Bhd, a joint venture company between KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd and Sapura Resources Bhd, for the proposed job.

The contract is in addition to ongoing sub-contract works being undertaken by MESB for execution of extra low voltage (ELV) for the construction and completion of basement carparks, convention centre, podium, office tower and associated works related to the convention centre podium, which was awarded by Samsung C&T (KL) Sdn Bhd for RM22.5 million.

The works will commence on Aug 6, with completion targetted for May 2, 2019.

"The contract is expected to contribute positively towards the company’s earnings and net tangible assets for the period of the contract," MGB said.

It intends to fund the contract via internal funds and/or existing working capital.

MGB shares closed unchanged at four sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM38.51 million.
