KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): Media Prima Bhd announced a mutual separation scheme (MSS) for employees in selected departments to reduce staff numbers at its television stations, The Malaysian Insight reported yesterday.

"The group said it is in talks with employee unions of Media Prima subsidiary Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Bhd (TV3), which operates television broadcasting company TV3," The Malaysian Insight reported.

theedgemarkets.com, quoting Media Prima, had on Nov 28, 2018 reported that TV3 and union groups representatives had a day earlier (Nov 27, 2018) signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) in Putrajaya to begin the manpower rationalisation of TV3 employees.

In a statement, Media Prima said then that TV3 signed the MoA with TV3 Employees Union and TV3 Executive Union representatives. "The group (Media Prima) will ensure that affected employees receive fair compensation benefits and outplacement assistance," Media Prima said.
