KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 3): Meda Inc Bhd has appointed Datin Chan Heng Si as chief operating officer of the group.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Meda said Chan, 39, is the spouse of Datuk Yap Ting Hau, a director and substantial shareholder of the group.

Chan, a legal practitioner, is presently the executive director at property developer M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd. She is also the chief executive officer and co-founder of Sirocco Hospitality Group Sdn Bhd, the hospitality arm of M101 Holdings.

Chan is also a committee member of Real Estate and Housing Development Association (Rehda) Youth Malaysia and Rehda planning policies and standard committee and strata development since 2017.

In a separate filing, Meda also announced the appointment of Karlson Goh Kar Sheng, 41, as independent and non-executive director of the group.

According to Meda, Goh was previously running his own sole proprietorship and later joined a mid-sized firm and was made partner after a couple of years. Currently, Karlson is an associate director in the KL office of architectural firm DP Architects. 

Meda shares closed up 0.5 sen or 1.3% at 39 sen today, with 216,100 shares done, bringing a market capitalisation of RM188.37 million.
