KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 15): Maxis Bhd and Samsung are collaborating to provide enterprise grade mobility services to Malaysian businesses.

In a statement, Maxis said it will become the first mobile telco across Asia to be part of Samsung Business Ambassador (SBA) programme.

“This means that Maxis’ enterprise sales team will be trained to become mobility solution experts and trusted advisors to businesses in Malaysia,” the statement said.

“The partnership with Samsung B2B team also includes Maxis being appointed as the first Malaysian telco to directly offer Samsung Knox solutions, a set of software suites to manage, secure and customise mobile devices for different business needs and industry applications,” Maxis added.

Through the collaboration, Maxis said it will be able to offer businesses relevant recommendations as its enterprise sales team is equipped with the knowledge, tools, training and technical know-how from Samsung, making it easier for businesses to make sound decisions.

With Knox, Maxis said potential enterprise customers will have the capability to remotely configure and manage a huge number of mobile devices used in operations at multiple places.

“This is important in enabling a mobile workforce. Securing the mobile device into kiosk mode which means restricting the use and access to only work-related apps, can also enhance workforce productivity,” the statement said.

Additionally, Maxis said Knox Solutions can assure security on mobile devices by protecting company apps, content and data.

Maxis’ head of enterprise Loong Tuck Weng believed that being SBA, Malaysian businesses can be confident Maxis is providing expert advice to meet clients’ specific needs.

“And with Knox, we can offer our customers a better way to manage security and increase productivity. This partnership reinforces our position as the integrated solutions provider of choice for businesses in Malaysia,” Loong said.

Samsung Electronics mobile communications business Vice President of B2B sales group David Kim said global companies, including Malaysia’s top telco firms today, have put Samsung at the centre of their mobile strategy, and that Samsung devices, as well as solutions, have become essential tools for the modern and mobile workforce.

“Together with Maxis, we are confident that Samsung Knox Solutions will serve as the ultimate business tool so Malaysian businesses can increase efficiency, maximise potentials and create value with the devices they already love,” Kim said.

Maxis share price declined one sen or 0.17% to closed at RM5.93 today, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM46.32 billion.
