KUALA LUMPUR (May 22): Maxis Bhd has added a new product to its current suite of family-focused products that allows family members to have data access while abroad.

Dubbed FamilyRoam, the new product enables all share lines on MaxisONE Plan and MaxisONE Prime to enjoy free unlimited roaming in nine Asean countries.

"Roaming in these countries will be similar to using their mobile plan in Malaysia, since each user, whether on principal or share line, will have access to unlimited international calls and SMS, as well as unlimited use of their data pool," Maxis said in a statement today.

Under the new product, any member of the family can travel and enjoy free roaming under the same account and just pay for one combined MaxisONE World pass at RM38 per day.

“We know that mobile phones and the Internet are crucial to our daily lives, so we want entire families to have a seamless and worry-free Internet experience, even while travelling,” said Maxis head of postpaid Arjun Varma.

Maxis shares ended the morning session up one sen or 0.17% at RM5.81 today, with 105,300 shares traded, bringing a market capitalisation of RM45.34 billion.
