KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 11): The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has entered a strategic partnership with homegrown fintech company ManagePay Systems Berhad (MPay) to deploy an innovative travel card and loyalty solution.

In a statement Sept 9 in conjunction with MATTA Fair 2017, it said Malaysian outbound travellers and inbound tourists will soon have a new way to enjoy exclusive benefits and rewards.

It said the co-brand program, to be named MPay MATTA Mastercard Prepaid Card is designed to offer travelling customers with a wide range of perks including attractive cashback and special member discounts when spending at a wide range of travel and lifestyle merchants.

The MPay MATTA Mastercard Prepaid Card will be accepted worldwide, and cardholders are able to top up their card via FPX online as and when they need more funds.

MATTA CEO Phua Tai Neng said the introduction of this prepaid card with the MPay Group and Mastercard was about continuously rewarding loyal MATTA supporters.

“We firmly believe the features and reward options of this new program will enrich the journeys of all travellers, local and international.”

“Essentially, the solution is a sophisticated structured marketing system with built in customisable reward programmes, which was what attracted us to work with MPay in the first place.

“It truly is the solution that will enrich your travel experience, within Malaysia and beyond. One example is our new ability to effortlessly offer special gifts during special occasions like birthdays,” he said.

Meanwhile, MPay Group’s Founder, Managing Director and CEO, Datuk Chew Chee Seng said the company was pleased to expand its offerings in the travel sector with a valued partner like MATTA.”

The co-branded card will work seamlessly with MPay Wallet, the group’s digital wallet app. Cardholders will be able to check their card balance, top up their card and keep track of their transactions from their smart phones.The MPay MATTA Mastercard Prepaid Card is set to also be popular amongst travellers visiting Malaysia.

Chew added that the card will allow travellers to go cashless without having to pay hefty fees by using payment cards from their home country. Instead of carrying a large amount of cash, travellers can simply purchase the card, load their Malaysian Ringgit into the card and spend with ease whilst enjoying cashback rewards,” shares Chew.
