KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 18): Minister of Finance Inc (MoF Inc), the corporate body under the Ministry of Finance Malaysia, has named Masnizam Hisham as the new president and group chief executive officer of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd for a contractual three years, effective immediately.

In a statement, MoF Inc said her appointment was to replace Datuk Sri Azmi Abdul Aziz, whose service had been concluded on Dec 31, 2017.

"Her appointment coincides with the increased role of Prasarana in the operation of LRT, Monorail, MRT, Rapid Bus, Penang Ferry and Rapid Transit System (RTS) involving the government of Malaysia and Singapore.

"By this appointment, we believe that she will be able to continue and enhance the efficiency of management and operations of Prasarana," MoF Inc said.

Previously, Masnizam was chief executive officer of Prasarana Integrated Management and Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (PRIME), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prasarana.

She served Prasarana for 12 years from 2005 as the head of legal division and company secretary at RapidKL. Among other positions Masnizam held at Prasarana were group head of the procurement division, head of strategic communications and marketing division, as well as head officer of infrastructure services.

"As chief executive officer of PRIME, she was responsible for ensuring the success of the Al-Mashaaer Al-Mugaddassah Metro-Southern Line (MMMSL) project in Saudi Arabia, workers training for MRT Jakarta and infrastructure development for Prasarana, including the acquisition of trains, buses and depot construction," MoF Inc added.
