KUALA LUMPUR: Minister of Finance Inc (MoF Inc) has named Masnizam Hisham (pic) as the new president and group chief executive officer (CEO) of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd for a three-year tenure.

Masnizam replaces Datuk Seri Azmi Abdul Aziz whose term ended on Dec 31 last year.

“Her appointment coincides with the increased role of Prasarana in the operation of the light rail transit, monorail, mass rapid transit, Rapid Bus, Penang ferry and Rapid Transit System, [which involves] the governments of Malaysia and Singapore,” MoF Inc said in a statement yesterday.

“By this appointment, we believe that she will be able to continue and enhance the efficiency of management and operations of Prasarana,” it added.

Masnizam was previously CEO of Prasarana Integrated Management and Engineering Services Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prasarana.

She has served Prasarana for 12 years from 2005 as the head of legal division and company secretary at RapidKL. Among other positions Masnizam held at Prasarana were group head of the procurement division, head of strategic communications and marketing division, as well as head officer of infrastructure services.
