KUALA LUMPUR (July 5): Malaysia’s cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses which have been administered to recipients across the nation topped nine million yesterday (July 4) after 206,015 doses were administered yesterday, according to the latest updates on Twitter today by the country’s Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), citing data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).

The CITF said the cumulative 9.01 million Covid-19 vaccine doses comprised 6.39 million and 2.62 million first and second doses respectively.

Malaysia administered 206,015 Covid-19 vaccine doses yesterday (July 4), down from 217,807 a day earlier (July 3), according to the CITF.

The CITF said today the 206,015 Covid-19 shots administered yesterday comprised 127,385 first doses and 78,630 second doses.

Cumulatively within states and federal territories, Sarawak reported the highest cumulative number of first doses delivered at 1.2 million, followed by Kuala Lumpur at 1.15 million, the CITF said.

For second doses, Selangor registered the highest number of vaccine shots administered at 348,853 followed by Sarawak at 299,593, according to the task force.

Malaysia’s number of daily newly-confirmed Covid-19 cases fell to 6,045 individuals yesterday (July 4) from 6,658 a day earlier (July 3), according to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah’s statement yesterday.

Dr Noor Hisham said the country reported yesterday (July 4) 63 Covid-19-related deaths, which brought the cumulative number of pandemic-linked fatalities across the nation to 5,497 so far.
