SUBANG (Nov 7): Malaysia is aviation company VistaJet's second-biggest market in Asia, after China. VistaJet global chief commercial officer Ian Moore said 22% of Vistajet's customers in Asia come from Malaysia.

Malta-based Vistajet's website indicates the company, which operates Bombardier Challenger and Global business jets, has organised flights for corporations, governments and private clients to 187 countries worldwide.

Moore said at a media briefing here today: "22% of our customers in Asia come from Malaysia. For the first three quarters of this year, we saw a 45% year-on-year growth in international passengers departing from Malaysia and 18% growth in international passengers flying into the country."

"In terms of flight, there was a 12% increase in international flights departing from Malaysia, and 10% increase in flights arriving in the country," he said.

Looking ahead, Moore said VistaJet is looking at growing its Malaysia sales by up to 25% a year each in 2017 and 2018, capitalising on its Malaysian customers' growing wealth.

"Our customers' average age is getting younger as well, because the wealth-growing pace is getting faster," he said. He said VistaJet's customers are aged between 25 and 92, with an average of 52 years.
