KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 29): Malaysia Airlines Bhd has named Yeoh Hock Thye as its new head of sales. He will take up the post on Jan 3 next year in place of outgoing head of sales Laurent Recoura.

In a statement today, Malaysia Airlines said Yeoh has over 26 years of industry experience in revenue and channel management and distribution, airline operations, people management as well as finance and administration.

Yeoh was previously the director of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia with Delta Airlines, where he had established the new regional multinational corporate and Asia sales support team based in Singapore.

He also served with Northwest Airlines and Singapore Airlines.

"On behalf of the management team, I am pleased to welcome Yeoh to the Malaysia Airlines family," said Malaysia Airlines chief executive Peter Bellew.

"I look forward to working with him in driving the development and deployment of effective and customised sales and customer interaction and experience strategies," said Bellew.
