PUTRAJAYA (June 21): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) hopes to complete its investigation paper on former chairman of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, and his wife, Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid, "soon", before handing it over to the Attorney-General's Chambers for further action.

In a statement today, the anti-graft body said it will review the statements and explanations provided by Mohd Isa and his wife, especially on the issue related to corruption and abuse of power.

"During the investigation process today, both parties (Mohd Isa and his wife) have given full cooperation to the MACC," it added.

Yesterday, the MACC had summoned Mohd Isa and his wife to its headquarters in Putrajaya. On June 7, FGV's group president and chief executive officer Datuk Zakaria Arshad had voluntarily provided information and documents to the anti-graft body.

Mohd Isa and his wife arrived at 10am today and were questioned for nearly four hours, which ended at 1.30pm.

On June 6, Zakaria and three other senior management officials at FGV were suspended from their posts and forced to take leave of absence amid probe over alleged accounting irregularities at one of FGV's subsidiaries, Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd.

Shares in FGV, the world's largest crude palm oil producer, closed six sen or 3.39% lower at RM1.71 today, for a market capitalisation of RM6.24 billion.
