KUALA LUMPUR (June 8): Lien Hoe Corp Bhd executive director (ED) Christine Yap Tse Yeeng has been redesignated as chief executive officer of the company effective immediately.

Tse Yeeng, 39, is the daughter of Lien Hoe's managing director and substantial shareholder Datuk Yap Sing Hock.

According to Lien Hoe's Annual Report 2017, Tse Yeeng was appointed a non-independent non-executive director of the company on March 18, 2016 and was subsequently redesignated as its ED on June 17, 2016.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from University of Exeter, the UK and was called to the bar of England and Wales in 2010. She practised as a barrister at Holborn Chambers in London for several years prior to moving to Hong Kong where she served as the corporate legal adviser at the Lai Sun Group, which comprises five listed companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Lien Hoe shares closed down two sen or 5.2% at 36.5 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM122.82 million.
