KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 18): K-One Technology Bhd plans to acquire a two-acre land in the Jelapang Free Trade Zone 2 in Ipoh for RM910,000 for future expansions.

The group now occupies two manufacturing and business operating plants in the nearby Silibin Industrial Area which would not be sufficient for its future requirement, K-One said in a filing today.

K-One is buying the land in Jelapang from OCI Engineering Sdn Bhd.

"The property would be utilised to accommodate the group's future operational and manufacturing expansions. It also has the added advantage of being located in the vicinity of the existing plants, about 1km away, easing management and logistic matters.

"Furthermore, being located in a free trade zone facilitates the export process as compared to the existing plants holding licensed manufacturing warehouse which is more bureaucratic," it said.

K-One plans to fund the proposed acquisition via internally generated funds.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, the acquisition is expected to be completed by May 2018.

K-One shares closed unchanged at 18.5 sen for a market capitalisation of RM96.04 million.
