KUALA LUMPUR (May 19): The benchmark FBM KLCI declined 14 points or 0.78% following four consecutive days of gains, as some foreign funds continued to trim their positions on Bursa Malaysia.

Heavyweight Petronas Gas Bhd led the fall among the index component stocks, down 5.9% to RM22.10, followed by PPB Group Bhd which slid nearly 4% or 64 sen to RM15.42, while Tenaga Nasional Bhd dropped 2.2% to RM12, as at 4:05pm. 

On the broader market, losers outnumbered winners in the ratio of 415 to 327, while 342 counters were unchanged.

As at 4.15pm, the ringgit was trading at 3.5880 against the US dollar compared with 3.5687 yesterday.
