KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 13): The FBM KLCI is seen extending its loss and remain below the 1,700-point level today, in line with the sharp overnight fall at most global markets.

Foreign investors resumed selling on Bursa Malaysia last week and withdrew a total of RM182.9 million, excluding off market deals from the local stock exchange, which was more than half the amount accumulated in the preceding week, the research unit of MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd said in a report.

U.S. and European stocks fell sharply on Monday, with tech stocks in both regions getting hammered, while the U.S. dollar surged to its highest point in 16 months against a basket of currencies amid concern about European political risks, according to Reuters.

Major U.S. stock indexes dropped about 2 percent or more. Indexes were weighed down by a 5.0 percent slump in index heavyweight Apple, after an iPhone parts supplier cut its outlook, it said.

Based on corporate announcements and news flow yesterday, stocks in focus today may include Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd, Notion VTec Bhd, Hume Industries Bhd, United Malacca Bhd, IOI Corp Bhd, Dialog Bhd, United Plantations Bhd, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, Guan Chong Bhd and Hong Leong Industries Bhd.
