KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 25): The FBM KLCI is seen opening flat this morning in line with the overnight slip at most global markets.

A gauge of global equity markets edged lower on Thursday amid investor worries over U.S. government funding, but the U.S. dollar rebounded after recent weakness as central bankers convened for an annual policy summit at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, according to Reuters.

Yields on U.S. Treasury debt rose in light trading as investors awaited speeches scheduled for Friday by Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen and European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, it said.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 28.69 points, or 0.13 percent, to 21,783.4. The S&P 500 lost 5.07 points, or 0.21 percent, to 2,438.97 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 7.08 points, or 0.11 percent, to 6,271.33, said Reuters.

Based on corporate announcements on Bursa Malaysia and news flow yesterday, companies that will be in focus today may include: Hwang Capital Malaysia Bhd, AirAsia X Bhd, 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd, Genting Bhd, Genting Malaysia Bhd, Yong Tai Bhd, AMMB Holdings Bhd, Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd, Hong Leong Bank Bhd, Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd, WCT Holdings Bhd and PPB Group Bhd.
