KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): The FBM KLCI is expected to extend its gains and stay above the 1,750-level today, in line with the overnight rally at most global markets.

Global equity markets rallied on Monday to lift a gauge of world stock indexes to a fresh peak, while the euro briefly jumped to a five-month peak against the U.S. dollar as the first round of an election in France went to the market's preferred contender, according to Reuters.

Centrist Emmanuel Macron took a big step towards the French presidency on Sunday by winning the first round of voting and qualifying for a May 7 runoff alongside far-right leader Marine Le Pen, it said.

Based on corporate announcements and news flow last Friday, companies that will be in focus today when the market resumes trading after the public holiday on Monday may include: Gas Malaysia Bhd, Integrated Logistics Bhd, Iris Corp Bhd, Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd, Plastrade Technology Bhd, Petronas Gas Bhd, Gamuda Bhd, Seacera Group Bhd, PNE PCB Bhd, Dolomite Corp Bhd and Naim Indah Corp Bhd.
