KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 20): The Kuala Lumpur High Court said R&A Telecommunication Group Bhd's extraordinary general meeting (EGM) notice issued by Francis Tan Hock Leong on Nov 1, 2017 is "invalid and of no effect" after R&A sought the court's decision on the matter.

In a statement to Bursa Malaysia today, R&A said the court had decided on the matter on Friday (Nov 17).

Today, R&A said the court had made the following orders:

"The notice of EGM of R&A issued by Mr Francis on Nov 1, 2017 is invalid and of no effect;

"Any general meeting of R&A, including any adjourned meeting thereof, sought to be convened by Mr Francis pursuant to the notice of EGM is invalid, of no effect and is not a meeting of R&A binding on R&A's shareholders and R&A's directors;

"Any meeting held at 1st Floor, Cheng Yi Auditorium, The Kuala Lumpur And Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, No. 1, Jalan Maharajalela, 50150 Kuala Lumpur on Nov 22, 2017 at 10:00am or an adjournment thereof, whether to the same venue or elsewhere, sought to be convened pursuant to the notice of EGM is not a meeting of the shareholders of R&A and is not binding on R&A's shareholders and R&A's directors."
