KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 16): Malaysian state-owned investment arm Khazanah Nasional Bhd appointed Finance Minister II Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani as a director. Johari replaces former Khazanah director Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah.

In a statement today, Khazanah said Johari's appointment was made at its 80th board of directors meeting yesterday. Ahmad Husni was former finance minister II.

"Datuk Johari assumed his current position as minister of finance II on 27 June 2016. He was previously deputy minister of finance. He started his career at international accounting firm Peat Marwick & Co (now known as KPMG) as an auditor.

"He went on to hold senior key positions in several public-listed companies and was managing director in companies involved in the food and beverage, agriculture and manufacturing industries," Khazanah said.
