KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Bhd (KFH Malaysia), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House KSC, has announced six new major appointments across its corporate banking, treasury, corporate strategy, legal, technology and innovation and human resources divisions.

In a statement today, KFH Malaysia said the announcement come on the back of six other appointments made earlier in the year and now fulfils the bank's desire to find the best talent available to drive its revitalised business strategy.

Tengku Faradiza Tengku Baharuddin joins KFH Malaysia as senior vice president of corporate banking. She brings over 25 years of wholesale banking experience. She has worked with a number of local and multinational banks, which has given her a unique insight into the global financial services industry.

"Her knowledge and expertise in the corporate banking arena will enable KFH Malaysia to grow and enhance its business sustainably in this area," the bank said.

KFH Malaysia named Norashikin Mohd Kassim as executive vice president of treasury. She joins KFH Malaysia with over 23 years of experience in treasury, corporate finance, capital market, asset management and insurance.

Azleena Idris, meanwhile, has been appointed vice president of legal at the bank. She comes with over 20 years of experience in the banking industry in areas of legal, advisory and strategy. Azleena was with Bank Negara Malaysia for 12 years.

Mark Peile joins the bank as executive vice president of corporate strategy, assisting the executive leadership in charting the bank's future growth in its chosen markets. Peile brings 20 years of experience.

"His experience of working in the banking industry in Europe and the Middle East will bring significant global expertise in profit and loss and balance sheet management, communications, change management, performance management, operations, analytics and building high-performance teams," said KFH Malaysia.

Liu Shoua Fan has been named KFH Malaysia executive vice president of technology and innovation. His main focus in the bank will be to build world class processes and assisting the bank to become simpler, better and faster. Liu has more than 35 years of global experience in the international banking industry.

André van Iersel has been appointed as executive vice president of human resources. At KFH Malaysia, he commenced as the adviser to the chief executive officer (CEO) and was actively involved with the internal transformation programme — Inspire — for the bank. Prior to advising KFH Malaysia, he was engaged at the group level in KFH Kuwait from 2014.

"We now have the right people in the right roles to drive our repositioning in the Malaysian market and I am confident that KFH Malaysia will take back its rightful place as a key provider of world class Islamic products and services to all Malaysians," said KFH Malaysia CEO David Power.
