KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 4): Shares of JF Technology Bhd fell 18.7% in thin trade at the midday break today after being ruled as having infringed patent rights in the U.S.

At 12.30pm, JF Technology fell 12.5 sen to 54.5 sen with 48,300 shares done.

A Jury verdict from a United States District Court in California last Thursday found the company  liable for infringing the patent rights of Johnstech International Corp’s (JTI) patent entitled "Integrated Circuit Test Contact to Test Apparatus” (866 Patent).

The California Court found in favour of JTI in its claim for patent rights against JF Technology. There were four claims in total regarding JTI’s  866 Patent.

The Jury returned the verdict that JF Technology’s Zigma product had infringed the patents in all four claims, and awarded damages to JTI in the sum of US $636,807 (RM2.6 million). The announcement was made on Bursa Malaysia last Friday.
