KUALA LUMPUR: Jerasia Capital Bhd has appointed Debbie Yap May Se as its new executive director. She is the daughter of the fashion apparel manufacturing group’s executive deputy chairman, founder and major shareholder Datuk Yap Fung Kong.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Jerasia said May Se, 27, has a business degree from Middlesex University in the UK.

She previously served Jerasia Capital as an assistant manager for business development and corporate affairs from October 2011, before being promoted to manager in May 2013.

Jerasia said May Se’s primary role will be in strategic planning and performance management, particularly in the retail division.

“Currently, her focus is on rapidly expanding the group’s two Italian brands, Terranova and Calliope, whilst seeking out new brands to add to the group’s brand portfolio. Additionally, she works together with the group’s managing director on corporate affairs,” the filing added.
