KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 16): Low cost carrier AirAsia Group Bhd’s group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said Japanese airports are ahead.

In a series of tweets from his handle @tonyfernandes yesterday, he said Narita and Nagoya and Osaka were all building lcct (low cost carrier) terminals.

“Lower charges simpler operations , supporting lcc and growing the airport,” he said.

Fernandes also said that airports that did not want to change will lose out to those which are visionary and adapt.

“LCC and Full service airlines are two separate business . And airports are. Airports who don’t want to change will lose out to those who are visionary and adapt,” he said.
