KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 1): Datuk Mohd Izzaddin Idris has resigned as non-executive director of property developer UEM Sunrise Bhd,  following the completion of his service contract at holding company UEM Group Bhd.

Following the resignation, Izzaddin also ceases to be the chairman of the board tender committee and member of the board development committee, as well as the employee share option scheme (ESOS) committee.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, UEM Sunrise said Izzaddin had been on its board since July 2009. He had also helmed the position of group managing director and CEO of UEM Group since then.

Prior to that he was the chief financial officer of Tenaga Nasional Bhd.

UEM Sunrise also announced the appointment of Datuk Noorazman Abd Aziz as its new non-executive director.

Noorazman joined Khazanah Nasional Bhd as executive director for investments in May 2010 after having spent two and a half years as managing director of Fajr Capital Ltd, a Khazanah investee company.

Prior to this, he had exposures in international banking and finance through stints at Citigroup, Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd, Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority (LOFSA).

UEM Sunrise also saw the appointment of Wong Shu Hsien as an alternate director to Noorazman. She is currently a director of Investments at Khazanah.

Meanwhile Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa was redesignated to the role of independent non-executive chairman from non-independent non-executive chairman. This follows his cessation as a nominee of the holding company, UEM Group, effective Oct 1.

He was formerly the group CEO of Telekom Malaysia Bhd.

UEM Sunrise’s shares closed down 1 sen or 1.2% at 82 sen today, for a market capitalisation of RM3.7 billion.
