KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 19): i-Stone Group Bhd’s subsidiaries PA Metal Technics Sdn Bhd (PAMT) and i-Stone Engineering Sdn Bhd (IEN) have been given the green light from the Ministry of Health (MoH) to resume operations after the balance of its employees tested negative for Covid-19.

In a bourse filing today, the automation machine manufacturing group said the rest of its employees working at IEN and PAMT in Johor Bahru were screened for the virus.

i-Stone said IEN and PAMT will resume operations as usual while complying to the relevant standard operating procedures set by the government.

“We will continue to cooperate and work closely with MoH and the relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well being of all our employees towards flattening the curve and containing the situation,” it said.

On Jan 12, i-Stone announced that it was temporarily halting production activities at PAMT and IEN after 11 employees tested positive for Covid-19.

At the time, four local engineers from IEN had contracted the virus, while seven foreign employees — four from IEN and three from PAMT — had contracted the virus in a dormitory managed by a third party service provider.

At 3:06pm, shares in i-Stone were trading 2.08% or half a sen lower at 23.5 sen, valuing it at RM287 million.
