PUTRAJAYA (June 21): Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad, former chairman of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV), said he is the last person from the plantation giant's board to be hauled by up MACC in relation to its probe on alleged irregularities and abuse of power at FGV.

"I think I am the last one from the board of FGV to have been called to come to MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) here," he told reporters after being grilled for nearly five hours by the anti-graft body.

"I don't know if there will be any further sessions with the MACC, but I don't think so," he added.

Mohd Isa, together with his wife Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid, arrived at MACC headquarters here at 9:40am. He was in a grey suit, while his wife was clad in a light green dress.

The duo was summoned by the anti-graft body yesterday to give a statement on allegations of corruption and power abuse that included payment for Mohd Isa's wife to travel on a first-class flight.

"Whatever theories people might have, that is up to them. What I did was to reply to all questions [that] the MACC asked," he said, adding he does not want to disclose any information about his conversation with MACC.

Asked if he was innocent, he said: "That is up to the MACC".

"How do I know whether I am guilty or not? Whether I am wrong or not, I do not know. What I want to tell you is that i have replied to the MACC on all questions and allegations levelled against me," he added.

Mohd Isa also stressed he "does not want to jump the gun" and will let authorities decide if he is guilty or not.

Asked if the worst is over, now that he is the acting chairman of Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), Mohd Isa said: "No, I do not know. I only go to SPAD on the order of the prime minister. He asked me to go, I go."

Earlier this month, Mohd Isa — in his capacity as FGV chairman — suspended FGV group president and chief executive officer Datuk Zakaria Arshad, along with three others, pending a probe over alleged accounting irregularities at one of FGV's subisidiaries, Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd.
