KUALA LUMPUR (May 7): Pakatan Harapan will form the next government, says Invoke Malaysia, claiming that the Opposition coalition can win half of the country’s 222 Parliamentary seats in Peninsular Malaysia alone.

The group, headed by Pakatan lawmaker Rafizi Ramli, made the prediction based on its latest survey among voters in the peninsula.

The survey showed that Pakatan will win 111 of the 165 Parliamentary seats being contested in the peninsula, with Barisan Nasional securing the other 54 seats.

PAS, which is predicted to command a quarter of the Malay votes, will be unable to garner enough support to win any seats throughout the peninsula, claimed Invoke.

In terms of State seats, Pakatan is expected to win 253 seats, while BN is predicted to win the remaining 192 seats up for contest, Invoke said in a statement today.

Invoke said it conducted the survey among 11,991 registered voters across the 11 States and Federal Territory in Peninsular Malaysia over the course of two weeks, that was updated as of last Thursday.

The survey’s findings which were grouped by State, showed Pakatan winning the majority of the votes in Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Selangor, Federal Territory, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

Meanwhile the States expected to be won by BN are Kelantan, Terengganu, Perlis and Pahang.

According to the data from Invoke, BN is not expected to win any of the Parliamentary or State seats in Selangor, as Pakatan will make a clean sweep of all the 22 Parliamentary and 56 State seats.

Over in the Federal Territory, Pakatan will win 11 out of the 12 Parliamentary seats being contested, claims Invoke.

Pakatan is also expected to win the majority in Perak, taking 16 out of the 24 Parliamentary seats and 38 out of the 59 State seats up for contest.

Invoke also does not see BN taking any Parliamentary seat in Penang, with PH expected to sweep all 13 of the seats.

States that are expected to go in favour of BN include Pahang, where BN is expected to win 8 out of the 14 Parliamentary seats up for contest, and 27 out of the 42 State seats.

Terengganu is also expected to vote 'blue', with BN expected to sweep all 8 Parliamentary seats being contested and 31 out of 32 State seats.

In Kelantan, BN is predicted to take 13 out of the 14 Parliamentary seats being contested, and 42 out of the 45 State seats, according to the survey.

Invoke expects a Pakatan win in  Johor, with 21 out of the 26 Parliamentary seats and 39 out of the 56 State seats going to the coalition comprising PKR, DAP, Parti Rribumi Bersatu Malaysia and Parti Amanah Negara.

Melaka too is expected to go in Pakatan’s favour, with the coalition securing 4 out of the 6 Parliamentary seats and 17 out of the 28 State seats.

Over in Negeri Sembilan, 5 out of the 8 Parliamentary seats are expected to fall into Pakatan’s hands, as well as 20 out of the 36 State seats, according to the survey.

Invoke also predicts a win for BN in Perlis, winning 2 out of 3 Parliamentary seats and 9 out of the 15 State seats going.

On the other hand Kedah is expected to fall into the hands of Pakatan, winning 11 out of 15 Parliamentary seats and 21 out of the 36 State seats.
