KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 22): Insas Bhd’s executive deputy chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Thong Kok Khee will resign from his posts effective Feb 28, 2019, for personal reasons.

Datuk Wong Gian Kuui, 59, an executive director of the group since 1992, has been chosen by the board to succeed Thong as CEO.

“Thong will work closely with Wong in the next three months to ensure a smooth and successful transition,” Insas said in a stock exchange filing today.

The group also said that Thong, aged 64, will assume an advisory role following his resignation at the request of the board.

“With sound and established corporate governance, accountability, transparency and the continuity in the management team, the board has complete confidence in the new leadership and management team to achieve long term sustainable growth for the group,” Insas said.

Shares in Insas closed unchanged today at 69 sen, giving the group a RM478.4 million market value.
