KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 11): IFCA MSC Bhd said it is unaware of reasons for the recent sharp rise in price and volume of its shares, in response to Bursa Malaysia's unusual market activity (UMA) query yesterday.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, IFCA said it is not aware of any reason or any corporate development relating to the group's business and affairs not previously announced that may have contributed to the unusual trading activity of its shares.

The company had also said it is unaware of any rumour, report or possible explanation to account for the surge in trading activity.

IFCA shares were trading as high as 39.5 sen this morning from an intraday low of 23 sen on Nov 30, 2016, marking a 72% increase in less than 45 days.

It was also the most active counter on Bursa Malaysia this morning, with a trading volume of 97.3 million shares, surpassing its 200-day average trading volume of 5.84 million shares.
